Thrippunithura

Thrippunithura, also known as Tripunithura, is a municipal town located in the suburban part of the Kochi city of Kerala. It belongs to the Kochi metropolitan area. It is located at a distance of 12 km from the district headquarters, Kochi and 210 km away from the state capital Trivandrum.  The Hill Palace is the most famous attraction in Thrippunithura.

Important festival celebrated in Thrippunithura is Atha Chamayam, which is celebrated during the festival of Onam (August/September). Other major festivals such as Vishu, Christmas, Good Friday, Ramzan, and Bakrid are also celebrated in Thrippunithura.

Places of Interest
There are many places that are of tourist interest in and around Thrippunihura. Some of them are The Hill Palace (2 Km away from the bus stand), Sree Poonathrayesa Temple (3 km away), Muthukulangara Temple (2.5 km away), Willingdon Island Port (15 km away) and Kochi Fort (18 km away).

Air:
The nearest airport to Thrippunithura is the Cochin International Airport, Kochi. It is about 34 km away.

Rail:
Thrippunithura railway station is within walking distance from the bus stand. It is well-connected to Kochi, Kottayam, Kollam, and Trivandrum, Mangalore, Chennai and other major cities in the country.

Bus:
There are daily bus services available to Coimbatore, Kochi, Krishnagiri, Chennai, Sriperumbudur, Vellore and Kottayam. Some of the best bus operators who offer good travel experience to passengers are Kallada Travels and Ganesh Tourists.
