Mogalturu

Mogalturu is a village located in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarters of Mogaltur mandal which consists of 17 Panchayats in total. Of all the villages in the mandal, Mogalturu is the largest. It is located at a distance of 83 km away from the district headquarters Eluru and about 412 km from the state capital Hyderabad.

There are many good budget hotels near Mogalturu. Some of them are Dindi Resort, Narsapur, Charminar Hotel, Narsapur, Hotel Mourya, Bhimavaram and Falcons Nest Hotel, Bhimavaram (Tariff – Rs. 1400).

Language
The official language of Mogalturu is Telugu.

Events
Important festivals celebrated in Mogalturu are Pongal (January), Thaipusam (January/February), (Makara Sankranti (January), Ugadi (March/April), Dussehra (September/October) and Diwali (October/November).

Places of Interest
There are several places that are of tourist interest Mogalturu. Some of them are Gunupundi Someswara Temple (19 km away from Mogalturu), Guntupalli Caves (120 km away) and Kolluru Bird Sanctuary (136 km away).

How to Get There
Air:
The nearest airport to Mogalturu is Vijayawada Airport. It is about 130 km away.

Rail:
Nearest railway station to Mogalturu is in Narasapur and it is 11 km away. It is well-connected to Tirupati, Hyderabad, Nagarsol and Guntur.  

Bus:
There are daily bus services available to Hyderabad, Elluru and Narasapur. One can also travel by bus to Narasapur and reach Mogalturu. Some of the best bus operators who offer good travel experience to passengers are Sindhu Travels, Kaveri Kamakshi Travels and Meghana Travels.
