Ranavav

Ranavav is located in Porbandar, the district of Gujarat where Mahatma Gandhi was born. Ranavav shares its border with Jungle Bardo, which is famous for its diverse flora and fauna. This city acts as an informal headquarter for the nearby villages and is religiously significant. The region is rich in the minerals- bauxite and limestone.

Places to Stay
Hotel Kaveri International, Hotel Moon Palace and Hotel Harmony are some decent hotels in this part of the country. These hotels are about 12 km away from Ranavav.

Events/Festivals
The most popular festivals among people of Ranavav are the festival of nine days and nights held in October, the colourful festival of Holi and The Porbanar Mela  which takes places in the month of August. This fair is held on the seaside.

Gujarati is the main language spoken here. Hindi is also spoken.

Places to Visit
The Jambuvant’s tunnel near the railway station is believed to have been existing since the time of Ramayan. Nearby tourist destinations include Junagadh, Girnar and Gondal which are all known for their historical significance. One can hire a taxi or can take the buses run the local transport corporation to reach destinations.

The nearest airport is at Porbandar and is located around 9 km away.

The nearest major railway station from here is Porbandar (PBR) situated 29.8 km away.
