Rajnagar

Rajnagar is a township located in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is a part of the Chhatarpur district and is located only around 4 km away from Khajuraho which is one of the most popular historical destinations of India. This region is particularly known for its medieval Hindu and Jain temples. 

Places to Stay
There are a number of budget hotels located in Khajuraho, a little away from Rajnagar. Popular ones include Ramada Khajuraho, Hotel Green House, Hotel Zen and Hotel Gautama, which are about 6 km away from Rajnagar.

Events/Festivals
The week long Khanjuraho Dance Festival attracts quite a huge number of tourists every year. The festival is celebrated during the month of February. Other popular festivals of the region include Lokrang Festival and the music festival of Tansen Sangeet Samaroh.

Language
The official language of Rajnagar is Hindi.

Places to Visit
If you are travelling to Rajnagar, visiting the famous temples of Khajuraho is a must. Panna National Park is another famous attraction that should be visited if you are in this town. Nearby district of Satna has the religious destinations, Chitrakoot and Maihar, which are popular pilgrimage destinations. Bhandavgarh National Park is about 240 km from Rajnagar and is just the place for wildlife enthusiasts to visit. Buses are operated by the state transport corporation from Rajnagar and the nearby towns and cities.

The nearest airport from the region is at Khajuraho, located around 7km away.

Khajraha (KHJ) is the nearest railway station situated 3.8 km away.

Bus

A number of bus operators such as Shri Nath Nandu Travels and Shri Modi Travels offer bus services on close to 30 routes from Rajnagar.
