Ratangarh is a town located in the state of Rajasthan. It is
informally called as the “Varanasi of Rajasthan” as it houses a large number of
temples. It is famous for its frescoes and havelis, which are architectural
signatures of Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region. Previously known as Kolasar, it is
believed that Ratangarh was founded by the Maharaja of Bikaner in the late
1790s.

There are many decent hotels to stay in the district of Churu
where Ratangarh is located. Some hotels include Kuber Palace, Parma Hotel,
Gangaur Hotel and Ratangarh Motel, which is owned by Rajasthan Tourism
Development Corporation. These hotels are about 4-5 km away from Ratangarh bus
station.
Events/Festivals
Ratangarh is well-known for its Holi festival celebrations, which
are held during the months of September and October. Other important festivals
such as Diwali, Makar Sankranthi, Teej and Gogaji are also celebrated in
Ratangarh.
Language
Hindi is the local language of Ratangarh.
Places to Visit
Ratangarh fort, which was built by the King of Bikaner is a
must-visit place. The famous temple of Salasar Balaji is 45 km far from
Ratangarh. Another interesting place to visit is the Fossil Museum. You can
simply walk around and visit the places in Ratangarh. Rajasthan’s road transport corporation
operates buses from Ratangarh to other attractions nearby.

Air
The nearest airport is located in the city of Jaipur, which is 225
km far from Ratangarh.
Train
Ratangarh has its own railway station and it is a busy railhead.
It connects other major cities such as Delhi and Jaipur.
Bus
Ratangarh is connected through buses from all major towns and
cities. It can be reached from Bikaner, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Pallu,
Rawatsar, Ringas, Sikar and Suratgarh and Delhi. Rajasthan Road Transport
Corporation operates various AC and Non-AC buses to Ratangarh from other towns
and cities.
Rathore Travels, Rathi Tours and Travels, Kalpana Travels and
Shrinath Travel Agency are the private bus operators who operate buses to
Ratangarh.
